My 'little' collection.

My tiny house today.

Yes, as I'm sure you heard, I gave up my old Shop 66 collection of doll, toys and everything else when the present and future burden of storing/housing became too much for me after such a hard move. It was very hard at first but as time went on I felt free. And luckily so, because months later I was faced with breast cancer.

And through this experience of losing all my things I've learned many, many things. Mainly about things. Things are things! And there's always new things and more things and really these things do not matter. We will always have collecting of things because there are so many things.

So what does matter? Life. You. Me.

Here's just one more 'thing' to share. Me as the Easter Bunny at my church at the annual "Eggstravaganza'. ;)

See you soon. I promise.

Once upon a time there was a shop called....

HELLLLLOOOO!!! Dear Shop 66 Friends!

It has been an eternity since I last blogged. Yes! I'm ok. Because I'm here! So that means something.

Over the past 3 years, I spent 1/2 that time battling breast cancer and I'm very happy to say I won! Above is a small portion of my hair loss and regrowth journey (July 2011 to February 2013). Wow!

I also suffered another big loss only a few months after my move back home to Pasadena, my dear ex-boyfriend, George, passed away in October 2010. It's hard to believe I lost another man in my life. But God has a way of showing us life when we are at our lows.

Because I'm going to be Grandma in July! Below is a cute photo of the Samantha and Adam. They are having a girl! (Of course!) Hooray!

I've still have years of things to share with you. I'm sure you have hundreds of questions.

And there will be time for that... in the meantime. Hello friends! I am well, I hope you are well too.

Visit me on Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/simpleandkind/ It's where I've been recently.

Come back in a few days and I'll share more.

xo xo Gretchen

(P.S. Yes, there's lots of old links on here and the old shop and etc. As days go on I will be updating them with new, fresh information.)

BIG News: Goodbye Doll Room...

I have news my Shop 66 friends... VERY BIG news that I've been keeping quiet the past few weeks and it's now time to share with you. I'm moving back to my home town, Pasadena/L.A. (California), in the very near future. And since I'm now past grieving and accepting the loss of my current Doll Room and anticipating the move, I've started packing. Are you ready to start this new adventure with me? Because I plan to share some of it here.

But DO NOT WORRY!! Shop 66 is not going bye-bye! Shop 66 is coming along too and will only be quiet (closed) a few months, mid-summer through early fall (approximately). I'll also be parting with excess so before Shop 66 is relocated, it will fill with fantastic things. (Hooray!)

Always remember, dreams can come true!

Surprise!

Time has come for me to do a MAJOR clean out of my collection. I'm now ready to part with many things no one would ever image I'd part with. Because you see, I've been collecting fiendishly for the past several years to help fulfill a life long dream of mine. And yes, it's still a secret, known to only a few, but some day I'll reveal to you. All I know is it's time and I'm finally ready... so starting today I will be listing fantastic things in Shop 66 (Etsy shop).

Also, to be fair, there are no reserves on some dolls and payment is due immediately. If this criteria applies, it will noted in the flickr preview and the listing.

Happy Easter! (and stuff)

Happy Easter Shop 66 friends! I lost my thunder a few days ago. Typical Spring allergies time for me. There's yellow pollen from oak trees everywhere and the #1 thing I'm allergic too.

We ready for the Easter Parade here in the Doll Room! Hoping we can visit the outdoors soon.

Pup 66 is ready too. Yesterday he came with me to work at Teaching Carolina.

Think he's a tad confused?

But there's lots to play with Pup!

And here's my newest vintage Doll cover find. My #1 collecting obsession lately. I can't get enough!

That's all for now, I'll share some Easter past photos and maybe some day at the beach shots later. <3
