Feel Better Mom!

Here's a happy little flower for my Mom! To cheer her up! AND it's a little flower I drew on a card to my Mom when I was in primary school. Feel better Mom! I love you!!

My Mom had hearing implant surgery last week and is still recovering. Sore and tired from such a major and sensitive surgery she needs to rest so she can get well. But my Mom is Super Mom and just hates to slow down. If she had her way she would be making cookies, work on the yard/garden, and give Woody (her dog) a bath. Slow down Mom! We want you to recover 100%!

Below is another little picture I drew but when I was 4! It's "my Mommy on the telephone".
I love you Mom! xoxo Gretchen

(New Blog Feature) Free Stuff: Twirly Girl

Today I share with you my new blog features/series "Free Stuff". Hooray! To keep in the spirit of Shop 66 philosophy "cute vintage handmade fun" I will be sharing with you fantastic pages of craft I find in vintage craft magazines, kid zines, coloring books, playsets, etc. I'm debuting with super cute "Whirl a Twirly Girlie" found in Humpty Dumpty Magazine, March 1958. Though this cool little paper dolly ornament is over 50 years old, it's timeless!

Happy Birthday Samantha!

Today my daughter, Samantha, is 23! The best day of my life was, August 25, 1986, the day she was born. She's the best thing I every created. She is a real work of art. My living doll.

So today I share with you some current photos of Samantha... because last year I posted childhood photos (Sam, I hope you approve). I think all of them are from her numerous 2009 Canada mini vacations (where she is now...her facebook says: "away in Bruce Peninsula National Park looking at black bears and eating birthday cupcakes". (I bet you can tell by her photos she knows how to have fun.) Happy Birthday Samantha!!

Wall Curios

I unwrapped two wall curio cabinets I've had in storage for awhile. Both have glass doors and mirror backs. Both very nice. Now it's time to fill them up by gathering all my favorite little things. What a fun project! Once I've finished with them I'll take some "after" photos.
