New Bargains Section and New Items Debut

Sometimes I list an uninteresting item or the price is just not right and it does not sell and many times I find or have an item I think you'll like but it's "as is" or just not the quality I feel the Shop should represent, soooooooooo I've created a new section in my Shop:

This section will always separate these reduced items or things that have lingered for more than a few weeks in the Shop or "as is" stuff for FANTASTIC prices! "As is" stuff will be important to watch for! Right now I have about a dozen mildly bruised and smashed little kewpie dollies and I think they might be of interest to the right person! I also have various little figurines and dollies that need a new home and some TLC.

New Items Debut!!

I have several new creatively packaged, creative items I'll be debuting in the next couple of days, including:

Super Mini Jar of Charms (see sample below)

Tin of Vintage Diecuts

Tiny Tin of Mini Appliques

I also will be having a designated day and time each week for the best of my vintage or OOAK or rare items very, very soon!! I'm still working on the time but I'll keep you informed. I might consider having two different times because you all live all over the world and in almost every time zone! Please email me or comment if you have any suggestions! :)

Springing Out for Easter!

It's time to open the Easter drawer! For months and months I've been adding to my vintage Easter collection and now it's time to "spring" out all my little friends! You can view the many stars of my collection in my Vintage Easter Set on Flickr.

I've also been noticing all the local shops have also opened up their drawers of goodies! Easter is all about CANDY and CHOCOLATE!!! And it's all cute! I was thrilled to buy my first bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs this afternoon...one of my all time seasonal favorites. And I was almost blinded by the site of a huge bin of classic yellow marshmallow Peeps! I bought these little boxes of jelly beans and malted milk balls as a seasonal addition to Shop 66 customer goodies bags.

I stumbled into World Market after my daughter, Samantha, was worried they were going out of business - the one I visited often in Detroit was having a closing sale. Fortunately, it was just that particular location -- my World Market is OK! I usually just stock up on Meiji -Apollo Strawberry Chocolates and other imported candies, various spicy chips and dips, bottles of soda, silly little toys, baskets, cute housewares and dishes. But I was overwhelmed when I discovered this years Easter decorations! I bought these cute little yarnie peeps. I also found some cool felt butterflies and flowers and vintage looking baskets!

I've also unwrapped many more items for Easter for Shop 66! Look for new arrivals this Thursday afternoon, February 21! These cute little lambies and other Easter and Spring cuteness will be available. But never fear if you miss out - I have so much more to share with you!
And one more sign that Spring is here (or coming) - the bulbs in my front yard have sprouted and are over a foot tall! :)

Life with Ferrets!

April, Hansel, Gretal, Meiko and Milo. That's the names of my five comical ferrets. Here's just a snapshot of what it's like to live with five ferrets (and if you're a crazy collector and artist):

My workspace room is also my ferret room. When I work on things as many as 10 little eyeballs are watching me. (But this is the way it has beeen for me for almost 20 years - it all started with with my first little ferret "Sebastian" my husband bought for me.)

Ferrets have to have cute bedding and lots of baby blankies because they love to sleep all tucked in blankies like little babies. The softer, the fluffier and the fresher the blankies the better. (I think they even know what's cute and what's not... you should see their food bowls...)

Ferrets are thieves!! Constant thieving or as it is called "ferreting" is their passion. (I guess that's why I understand them since I'm sort of a ferret of stuff too.) The closet in their room (or my workspace) is filled with their loot - tennis shoes, bubble wrap, small plush animals and toys, empty wrappers, and sometimes a thing I'm missing I need really bad - like my wallet or a coin purse.)My pose dolls and all my delicate dolls and toys have to be behind glass or up as high as possible - ferrets like to sink their teeth in soft things like pose doll faces. Somewhere, I have a box with a couple of pose dolls with facial lacerations (it's very upsetting).

So that's just a little snapshot on my fuzzy little friends that keep me company all day long! Though they need special care and attention, it wouldn't be the same without them. They make me feel loved and special! :)
